If you have been to a quinceanera in Palm Beach County lately, you have probably seen one: a spread of tall glasses with chili-salt rims, bright red pours, gummy candy, and a line of guests waiting their turn. That is a michelada board, and it has quietly become the centerpiece of the modern XV bar.

What a michelada actually is

A michelada is a Mexican beer cocktail built over ice with lime, salt, and a mix of savory sauces. The beer is the base, and everything around it is where the personality lives. Because you supply the beer under our dry-hire model, the board is really about the build: the rims, the sauces, the garnishes, and the presentation.

What goes on the board

A good board is a range, not one drink. These are the builds we work from:

  • Michelada Clasica - beer, fresh lime, Valentina, a Tajin rim, and traditional sauces.
  • Gomichela Princess - beer, chamoy, Tajin, lime, and a gummy-candy rim. This is the one that ends up on everyone’s phone.
  • Chelada - the clean version: beer, fresh lime, and a salted rim.
  • Michelada Cubana - beer, Clamato, lime, sauces, Tajin, and a celery garnish.

On the XV / Quinceanera package the board is two builds - you pick your two from that list, and the others are there as swaps.

Why it works so well at a quinceanera

A XV is a half-adult, half-teen crowd, and the michelada board gives the adult side something festive and photogenic that is not just another cocktail. It reads as a real experience, it fits the culture of the day, and it keeps the bar moving.

At Palm Beach Cocktails, the michelada board is included with our XV / Quinceanera package, and it is available as a $175 add-on to any other package. We are insured and certified, and we bring the mix, the sauces, the rims, and the garnishes - you supply the beer.
